At SWC, we’re committed to doing our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The well-being of our employees, clients and contractors is our highest priority, and we are taking the necessary precautions to keep the health and safety of our community at the forefront of our operation.

It has become more important than ever to ensure that our surroundings are continuously disinfected and sanitary. As an immediate response to this need, we’ve begun to equip the existing lighting system with a disinfection feature.

When the light is on, it continually makes exposed areas inhospitable for bacteria and other microbes to grow and become dangerous. Unlike intermittent cleaning using chemicals or even more extensive deep-cleaning approaches, the new (non-UV) antimicrobial lights — which meet international standards for continuous and unrestricted use around people — protect both large, as well as hard-to-reach small spaces continuously. This provides a critical no-labor approach to keeping all of our most important spaces better protected.

There will never be a single solution to the health challenges we all face. But waiting for the next episodic emergency is not and should not be an option. The answer comes from both our own collective awareness from the newest, most poignant reminder, COVID-19, and acting now by embracing new approaches and ideas that are available today.
